The Opportunity As Senior Accountant, you will work on multiple infrastructure assets across Canada and the USA. You will oversee day-to-day accounting for various projects, including transaction accounting, posting entries, processing invoices, AP, AR, and account reconciliations. You will ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE, and support accurate and timely maintenance of financial records. Working alongside staff accountants and Finance Managers, you will have opportunities to learn and grow with the firm, including financial modeling and contract management. Key Responsibilities Oversee record keeping and general ledger maintenance, reviewing the accuracy of sales invoices, incoming payments, and supplier statements. Record monthly journal entries to the accounting system with a focus on accuracy and compliance and perform account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data. Prepare month and quarter end close documentation and engagement with project requirements. Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements and lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Prepare year-end audit working papers and liaise with external auditors. Compile tax schedules and coordinate with external tax advisors for the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns. Mentor and guide junior staff as part of a cohesive team. Other duties as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline. Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a project-based environment. Working towards a CPA designation. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards. Fluent in English (French preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency with accounting software and intermediate Excel skills preferred.
