Senior Information Officer – Position No: 227124 Level / Salary: Level 3, $86,439 - $92,795 (PSCSAA 2024) Work Type: Permanent – Full TimeBranch: Special Operations Application UnitLocation: PerthClosing Date: 2026-01-12 4:00 PM Position Objective This position provides a point of contact for all stakeholders and acts on complex requests for information whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, internal policies and procedures. Provides guidance and training to Information Officers within the team. Specialist Pre-requisite It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment. Only Australian citizens are eligible to hold and maintain this clearance. Applicants who are not yet Australian citizens must be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian citizen prior to appointment. Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages: Communication and interpersonal skills – preparing reports, memos and general correspondence; developing instructional and guidance material with consideration to audience; liaising with all levels of personnel within and external to the agency; building and sustaining positive relationships; working collaboratively within a team to meet priorities and outcomes; instructing and supporting team members on processes and procedures; providing input into proposed improvements/changes to external stakeholder systems. Analytical and problem solving skills – collating, interrogating and evaluating complex information from various sources; identifying issues; analysing information and formulating and explaining solutions to complex information requests; contributing to continuous improvement. Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the key accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form. The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist. Other Conditions Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of appointment. Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
