Do you believe in the power of connection, play, and compassion to change lives?At Nankind, we exist to lessen the impact of cancer on families—and we’re looking for a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) who wants to make a meaningful difference every single day.Reporting to the Program Director, this role is ideal for a passionate, creative professional who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment and is deeply committed to supporting children and families navigating a parental cancer journey.Why Nankind?Make a real, lasting impact on families facing cancerWork alongside an incredible team and supportive leadershipBe part of an organization that values continuous professional growthBring creativity and innovation to programs that truly matterWork Model: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day work from home)Schedule: Fixed schedule, 35 hours per weekSalary: $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experienceScope of the RoleAssess the needs of families enrolled in Nankind programsLiaise with families and volunteers to support parents with cancer and their childrenDevelop and implement program activities and standardized plansProvide individual and group therapeutic interactions and play-based interventions for children and parents impacted by cancerKey ResponsibilitiesCreate eligibility and enrollment criteria for programsParticipate in the NAN matching processConduct initial contact, intake, and in-home assessments with assigned volunteersManage ongoing family–volunteer relationships and provide volunteer supportDeliver individual child support as neededDevelop program activities (Fun in the Box, Camp in the Box, Homework Club, Coping Kits)Support program evaluation and prepare KPI-based reportsContribute content for blogs, newsletters, and social mediaParticipate in outreach, recruitment, fundraising, and training initiativesSource books, toys, and therapeutic resourcesHelp plan holiday programming and celebrationsEnsure a steady flow of referrals from external partnersOverall AccountabilitiesDesign and implement programs aligned with Nankind’s mission and visionProvide training, supervision, and ongoing support to volunteersConduct Child Life assessments and deliver individualized interventions when requiredAbout YouYou:Must have completed a Child Life Internship and/or be a Certified Child Life Specialist.Enjoy working with children and families from diverse cultural backgroundsHave excellent verbal and written communication skillsCan manage multiple priorities in a compassionate, organized mannerAre creative, adaptable, and comfortable thinking outside the boxThrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentCan manage the emotional demands of working with families facing life-threatening illnessUnderstand the complexities of working with volunteersHave access to a vehicle and are comfortable conducting in-home assessments*Please note we are unable to provide an internship at this time.📩 How to ApplyPlease send your cover letter and resume to✨ Join us and help change lives—one family at a time. #J-18808-Ljbffr
