Support complex client needs as a Client Care Worker with Carefor, delivering personal care and harm reduction interventions in Ottawa programs. Collaborate with health care teams.
This Client Care Worker position serves specialized care units across the Ottawa Inner City Health network. You will support clients facing physical, mental health, and substance-use-related needs within shelters and supportive housing. Carefor provides ongoing professional development, onboarding, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and transfers
- Administer and document medications according to MAR requirements
- Monitor vital signs and report client condition changes
- Provide emotional support and promote client well-being
- Support harm reduction strategies and multidisciplinary care planning
Requirements:
- Personal Support Worker or Developmental Service Worker certificate essential
- Internationally Educated Nurse or second-year nursing student accepted
- Clear vulnerable sector police check essential
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with complex medical, mental health, or substance-use needs valued
