Our solutions are developed by small, focused agile teams of developers and data scientists. You will contribute to the building of machine learning solutions and other infrastructure components that will be used on very large electronic communication archives in order to classify and understand communication content. You'll have the opportunity to work in machine translation, transcription, natural language processing, LLMs (large language models), and/or generative AI. You also get to tackle interesting and engaging problems related to scalability and high availability in big data environments.Your job:Work as part of an Agile development team to write Python codeDocument code and write detailed design documentsWork with other developers and data scientists in the deployment of machine learning models, large language models, and other infrastructure componentsDesign, in collaboration with team, the software implementations that satisfy business requirementsDesign, in collaboration with the architecture team, the system architectures that satisfy business requirementsWrite unit and integration tests for your codeCollaborate with testers in development of test casesDevelop deployment systems for Python based systemsCollaborate with product owners on user story generation and refinementParticipate in knowledge sharing activities with colleaguesMonitor and support operation of production systemsMentor teammates via pairing, design review, and code reviewAbout you:5-7 years of software development experience, shipping enterprise grade software in an Agile environment, ideally in Python (or comparable experience in other languages with a willingness to move to Python)Experience working with microservicesExperience with web services technology such as REST, JSON, or ThriftSolid knowledge of software development principles, data structures, and design patternsExperience with multi-threaded programming and asynchronous programmingExperience with unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD)Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)Experience mentoring Junior developersExperience with any of the following is considered an asset:C++, BashMLflow, Kubernetes, Docker, MilvusCompensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws.
