Advanced Practice Physiotherapist – Hip and Knee ASAP Be part of Vancouver Coastal Health’s (VCH) pioneering Hip and Knee Arthritis Surgical Assessment Program (ASAP). This role offers relocation assistance, a competitive hourly rate of CAD $42.56 – $52.95, and the opportunity to work closely with orthopedic surgeons in a first-of-its-kind surgical triage program. Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for consultation and assessment of patients referred to the Hip and Knee ASAP program. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of orthopaedic surgeons and other health‑care practitioners to address patient needs. Utilize decision‑support tools to triage referred patients and develop shared‑care management plans that emphasize patient education and referral to community resources. Remove non‑surgical patients from the waitlist when appropriate and direct them to chronic disease management services. Teach pre‑operative hip and knee classes. Maintain full integration with local orthopedic surgeons and communicate post‑consult outcomes to primaryli> Patient Population Triage and prioritize patients with moderate to severe osteoarthritis of the hip or knee who have been referred to the ASAP program. Education & Experience Degree in Physiotherapy. Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Five (5) years of clinical experience, including at least three (3) years in musculoskeletal practice. Successful completion of a relevant diagnostic imaging course. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy theory and practice within a client‑ and family‑centred model. Expertise in hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, and systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease. Clinical reasoning and decision‑making to determine appropriate triage for joint replacement. Knowledge of evidence‑based physiotherapy practice, CPHCBC and Canadian Physiotherapy Association standards and guidelines. Knowledge of legislation related to physiotherapy practice and VCH clinical guidelines, policies and procedures. Understanding of indications for surgery, risk/benefit considerations and differentiation between inflammatory and non‑inflammatory conditions. Ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers, physicians, other health‑care professionals, clients and families. Ability to function as an effective team member, mentor, coach and facilitator. Project planning, problem‑solving and ability to lead technology‑based practice education and support. Physical ability to perform job duties and computer literacy.
