The OSI Clinic provides specialized mental health assessment and treatment to clients and their families referred by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), RCMP, and the Department of National Defense (DND), who are experiencing work‑related psychological stress and trauma (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder, and other anxiety disorders; Depression; Chronic Pain, etc.). The services of the OSI Clinic are provided by an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, clinical therapists and occupational therapists. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Clinical Therapist delivers mental health assessment and treatment services to Veterans and their families. Responsibilities Provide education with various stakeholders i.e., VAC District offices Maintain contact with the referring VAC area counsellors, RCMP, and DND in the development of treatment plans and referrals Utilize OSI supported virtual care (i.e., Zoom for Healthcare) and other distance technologies in the provision of services in outlying communities Work with the Canadian network of OSI clinics, and follow the leadership of the Operational Stress Injuries National Network Utilization of Outcome Measurement Based Care Work in a manner that is following staff and client safety practices, policies, and procedures of the NSH and in compliance with the VAC guidelines for OSI clinics. About You We would love to hear from you if you have: Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy) Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body Two (2) years of licensed clinical experience in assessment, treatment, and discharge planning Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria Training in evidence-based therapies for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use (e.g., CBT, EMDR, CPT, PE, MBSR) Experience providing trauma-focused, evidence-informed individual and group therapy Experience working in an interdisciplinary care model Knowledge of mental health best practices, community resources, and crisis response Experience supporting police, veterans, and/or Canadian Armed Forces members (asset) Ability to collaborate with families and provide family-sensitive care Sensitivity to the unique needs of military and police personnel Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle Two (2) years licensed related clinical experience (including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention and discharge planning) is required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years’ of licensed experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Dev) HTH130 scale. Hours Full-Time - 75 Hours Bi-Weekly Long Assignment - Approximately 13 months Compensation and Benefits Clinical Therapist: $42.21 - $56.88 HourlyClinical Therapist (Developmental): $35.83 - $46.37 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
