Help children cross safely near Laidlaw School as a Part Time Crossing Guard with strong observation and clear communication skills. Shifts run mornings and afternoons.

In this part-time assignment with Pembina Trails School Division, you will guide students and pedestrians across streets or highways near school. You will communicate with children, parents, teachers, police, and motorists while modeling safe practices. The schedule includes 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. and 3:30 to 3:50 p.m. shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students and pedestrians about safe crossing practices
  • Inform motorists pedestrians have the right to cross
  • Assist teachers, parents, and police with safety instruction
  • Maintain a positive professional manner while on duty
  • Report concerns and incidents to the school principal

Requirements:

  • Clear communication with children and community members
  • Good English language skills
  • Ability to stand during assigned duty hours
  • Ability to hold a stop sign for extended periods
  • Basic first aid training considered beneficial

Use careful observation, respectful instruction, and dependable presence to support safe crossings for Laidlaw School students and pedestrians.
