Reporting directly to the VP of Retail Distribution, you’ll have the autonomy to execute bold territory strategies and deliver lasting results.Why pursue this opportunityOur mission - provide expertise and intelligent solutions to help Canadians navigate life with confidence.Play an integral role - this is an opportunity that allows for you to grow your skills, while directly contributing to the business unit you are a part of.Assume a pivotal leadership position - harness your expertise to deliver impactful results, shaping and leading your area with experienced foresight.What you’ll be working onBuild Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with top-tier MGA distribution partners, working collaboratively to uncover new revenue opportunities across both Insurance and Investments.Shape Regional Business Strategy: Lead the annual planning process, drawing on your expertise in retail insurance and segregated funds to create a clear roadmap that drives regional success.Inspire High Performance: Work closely with the Vice President to set ambitious sales targets, monitor activities, and ensure exceptional results in profitability and retention.Develop Talent and Empower Growth: Recruit, develop, and mentor top performers while fostering collaboration through territory planning sessions that set your team up for success.Drive Market Innovation: Gather insights from the field and client feedback, translating this into actionable recommendations to influence marketing strategies and product development alongside Senior Management.Represent the Brand with Authority: Be the face of Empire Life at industry events, ensuring a strong presence while upholding compliance and managing risk with precision.What we’re looking for you to have10+ years of face-to-face sales experience, including 5+ years in the insurance industry.5+ years of proven success in sales management, leadership, and team coaching.A well-established network in the financial services industry, particularly within the insurance and MGA channel.Strong expertise in strategic account management and partnership building.Deep knowledge of insurance products, financial planning tools, estate planning, and insurance distribution channels.Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and compliance standards in the financial services space.Licenses and designations such as LLQP, plus one of the following: CLU, RHU, FMA, CFA, CFP, CIM, or ChFC (CSC or IFIC considered an asset).A degree in business or equivalent industry experience.Demonstrated ability to lead through change and effectively develop high-performing teams.Exceptional skills in communication, relationship building, and delivering impactful presentations.Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.Expertise in business planning, strategy, and execution.Proficiency in digital tools, including CRM software, AI, word processing, spreadsheets, and email.If you are applying for a position which is open to applicants across Canada, unless otherwise indicated in the position, language proficiency in English is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.Our hiring process includes AI screening for keywords and minimum qualifications.
