We are seeking an organized and energetic Maintenance Manager who is committed to providing high-quality service and contributing to a supportive team environment. What You’ll Do Planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring the effectiveness of all operational activities within the maintenance department. Planning, organizing and overseeing the department to ensure priorities are met. Performing general and routine maintenance, minor repairs, fire safety, and scheduled servicing operations to maintain the site in a safe manner. Determining scope of work, receiving cost estimates and referring problems requiring specialized work such as electrical or plumbing to outside contractors and monitors work performed. Leading an effective recruitment, orientation, and performance management process in accordance with the organization standards for all team members within the department. Managing and monitoring all expenditures, explains monthly variances and works with the Executive Director/General Manager to identity corrective action. Performing other duties as assigned. May be required to manage an assigned team What You Bring Relevant post-secondary diploma in Building Systems or a related field. Health and Safety Certification (Levels 1 and 2) required. Strong knowledge of computerized building management systems, electrical distribution, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, emergency generator operations, and related testing requirements. Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings. WHMIS training is an asset. Experience in a care community or retirement residence is preferred. A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
