Basic Requirements Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Baccalaureate in Nursing Masters in Nursing or Education Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Minimum of 3‑5 years of clinical experience in medicine or relevant clinical experience Current BLS (CPR) Effective communication skills in oral and written format Positive interpersonal skills Ability to direct, supervise, teach, and advise nursing personnel in nursing standards Use of effective teaching strategies incorporating educational theories and practice standards Demonstrated leadership ability Group facilitation skills Effective presentation skills Thorough working knowledge of current nursing theories, research and practice standards Thorough working knowledge of current and future trends in health care Knowledge of current legislation affecting patients and employees Eligibility to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years teaching experience Membership in a specialty related professional association Completion of a coronary course or cardiac training Certification in a clinical specialty Proficiency in English and French – oral expression and comprehension at an advanced level What You Can Expect From Us The Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment for everyone.
