The Assembly Supervisor will supervise plant personnel to ensure work is carried out in a safe manner with expected productivity. Detailed production planning to ensure that the product is manufactured to meet customer expectations. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Supervision of plant staff, including participation in the annual review process. Daily production planning to ensure optimal equipment and personnel utilization for on-time delivery. Interface with Engineering and Production. Assist with resolving manufacturing issues or non-conformances and clarify engineering questions. Training of staff. Ensure all work procedures and specifications are followed. Work safely according to Health and Safety procedures. Ensure workers comply with OHSA regulations and powersmiths safety practices; ensure proper use of protective equipment; inform workers of job hazards. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in productivity, cost, or safety. Adhere to ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures. Participate in monthly and annual inventory counts. Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Community college certification or equivalent in a related field. Three to five years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing facility. Demonstrated ability to manage people successfully. Strong English speaking, reading and writing skills. Experience managing people in a manufacturing environment. Computer skills (email, Microsoft Office). Knowledge of OHSA safety regulations and best practices. Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 an asset. Familiarity with transformer or switchgear products a definite asset. Working Conditions Works primarily on the shop floor. Requires considerable standing, bending, kneeling but ability to move freely. Must wear PPE: safety glasses, welding eye protection, gloves, safety shoes. May require overtime depending on order volume.
