We are looking for a skilled, detail‑oriented Business Analyst with a proven track record in IT projects and deep industry knowledge of utilities or oil & gas. As a Business Analyst at Sia Partners, you will bridge business needs and technology solutions, working closely with clients to understand their strategic goals, analyze challenges, and deliver actionable insights. Please note the following: - Our offices are in Alberta, but you may be asked to work East Coast hours if required by a client. - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is found. Key Responsibilities Facilitate and create business process maps. Analyze current state (As‑Is) and future state (To‑be) process models; determine necessary changes and identify change impacts on roles. Identify, document, and analyze business rules governing process implementation. Assist with fit/gap analysis of solutions. Participate in planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new deliverables. Examine processes holistically to understand impacts on people, strategy, existing software, and operations. Monitor and measure process effectiveness to ensure consistent value delivery. Participate in quality reviews to ensure traceability of designs to requirements. Assist in review or creation of training materials. Support change management activities. Use Business Analysis tools and techniques to document information needs and functional requirements. Perform subject‑matter research and business analysis. Research, analyze, identify system gaps, recommend solutions, and participate in deployment. Create/ review Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and translate BRD to functional specifications and traceability matrices. Participate in testing – test and execute processes to ensure correct results. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent education plus experience. 5–10 years experience as a Business Analyst or PM/Scrum Master on IT projects. Experience with Microsoft technologies is a plus. Familiarity with Agile methodologies; formal SCRUM or AGILE certifications are an asset. Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to interact with key stakeholders and technical teams. Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies. Ability to translate business requirements into non‑technical terms. Motivated by an entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable with ambiguity. Confident, self‑aware collaborator open to giving and receiving effective feedback. Business Analyst Certification is considered an asset. Change Management Certification is considered an asset.
