Position Summary The Senior Client Data Consultant is a specialized professional responsible for leveraging data to support the tax consultants with reviews and reporting activities within the organization. This role requires intermediate level Data Processing skills, understanding of accounting and tax regulations, and the ability to interpret complex financial data to optimize tax analysis and reviews. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to identify tax risks, opportunities, anomalies, and gaps. Validate and process data using MS SQL Server Management Studio and export data. Develop ETL pipelines and queries using Microsoft Azure Data Studio to transform and manipulate data. Perform data validation checks using MS Excel and data mapping. Develop and produce standard and ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel and other visualization tools. Manipulate and convert large volumes of data, including converting PDFs to table format using OCR tools. Collaborate with tax and data teams to streamline data flows and improve data accuracy. Be familiar with Canadian jurisdiction tax laws and perform data reconciliation. Model scenarios and forecast tax impacts using advanced data analytics tools and AI. Automate repetitive activities and processes as needed by the tax team. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and other team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT. Minimum 5 years of experience in database management, data warehousing, and data processing using structured querying language. Strong ETL development skills using Microsoft products. Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data models. Intermediate level accounting principles or 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting environment. Experience with Canadian indirect tax. Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau) and tax software platforms. Critical analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data and tax concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week. Travel: Less than 10%. Physical Activity: Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds; Frequent repetitive motions with hands.
