Reporting to the Supervisor of By‑law and Animal Services, the Enforcement Services Officer – Full Time Summer Student is responsible for: enforce the BBQ restriction provisions of the Parks By‑law working with another Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, as well as other applicable violations of the Parks By‑law; investigate and enforce other municipal by‑law infractions occurring on municipal property, i.e., No Smoking, Refreshment, Cannabis By‑law etc.; liaising with By‑law Services, residents and patrons to promote education of applicable municipal by‑laws at Heydenshore Kiwanis Park; other duties as assigned. Who You Are Our By‑law team is looking for a self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented team member. You convey your thoughts clearly and concisely. You listen attentively and ask questions for clarification and understanding. Using sound judgment and attention to detail, you demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with the public. You’re always happy to learn new things and to help build a working environment that encourages and cultivates new ideas. You foster a collaborative team environment among co‑workers, and work well both independently and as part of a team. What You Bring To Our Team full‑time student in law enforcement, law and security administration, police foundations, or related discipline; and, a valid Ontario driver’s license maintained in good standing (G class required) with access to a personal vehicle. Eligibility Requirements Students must be currently enrolled in and attending a post‑secondary institution on a full‑time basis (students will be required to provide proof) for the 2024/2025 school year and be returning to a post‑secondary institution on a full‑time basis in September 2025. Students selected must be available to commence summer employment as early as April 28, 2025 and commit to working through to, and including, August 29, 2025.
