Our client, a leader in Mechanical and Electrical construction throughout GTA and Ontario, is growing and they are in need of additional staff.

They are currently searching for an Electrical Estimator to work out of our head office in Mississauga or Toronto.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare full cost estimates on general tender work
  2. Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
  3. Study and analyze proposals received, recommend/reject proposals and negotiate contracts
  4. Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts
  5. Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency
  6. Present estimates and conduct review meetings with clients
  7. Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  8. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
  9. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
  10. Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation
  11. Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications/Positional Requirements
  • + years’ experience in Electrical estimating
  • Strong Background with Electrical Systems and/or construction industry
  • HVAC Systems understanding would be a bonus
  • Expert on reviewing blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with take-off procedures and bid preparation
  • Understanding of Engineering codes
  • Good communication skills to work with General contractors and Suppliers
  • Computer system background with Accubid and LiveCount is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, computer work and organizational skills
  • Is Autonomous, methodical and process driven
