As a result, career advancement is based on your success at the company but is unlimited.A Day in the life of Operation Manager/Senior Geotechnical EngineerLeadership and Staff SupervisionEnsuring the well-being and safety of Pinchin employees at work sitesSupervising employees and monitoring their job proficiency and qualityMentoring and supervising senior, intermediate, and junior level staffReviewing technical reportsCoordinating group resources, including employee allocation, equipment control, and maintenance, weekend resources, vacation scheduling, etc.Providing technical assistance to employeesLiaise between Clients and Pinchin employeesEnsuring employees are trained in and maintain, company procedures and programsWorking with employees to develop and set annual goals for professional growthContinue the ongoing development of our geotechnical team through supporting and encouraging technical upgrading and providing direction and mentorship on complex issues and field investigationsFinancial And Administrative ResponsibilitiesEnsuring that group budgets are prepared on time and that profit and utilization targets are metTracking monthly group performanceOverseeing the preparation of contract documents to Pinchin standardsCoordination of Project ActivitiesDeveloping and maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory body representativesDeveloping schedules and assigning work to employees as appropriateCoordinating work and client contacts with other groups within the CompanyMaintaining relationships with various contractors and other vendorsBusiness DevelopmentEngaging in business development; building and maintaining client relationships and monitoring industry trendsAttending trade shows, and professional associations/events and providing presentations and/or seminars as required to promote Pinchin’s profileMaintaining Quality Control and Technical Engineering DutiesReviewing the work of employees and colleagues to ensure it meets the established standardsMaking suggestions to continually improve work quality, for both self and teamReview projects from the proposal stage through to completion, including allocation of budgets, personnel and resources, billing, and client relationshipsMaintain technical proficiency, including participation in professional practice groups and organizationsParticipate in the preparation and presentation of training programsProviding clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelinesWhat You Bring To The Pinchin TeamUniversity degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience10 + years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role with experience in people and operational managementA Professional Engineering Designation in the Province of Ontario or be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of OntarioExperience managing a CCIL Certified Lab, considered an assetAble to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building SciencesProven technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clienteleStrong communication skills, professional presentation, and technical expertiseFamiliarity with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project-related financial managementExperience with business development initiatives and client interactionWhat Pinchin Offers YouA challenging, rewarding leadership position with the opportunity to mentor junior technical professionals.Competitive compensation, benefits, and Extended group benefits (we pay the premium) with no waiting period.Membership in our internal Communities of Practice, a national support network for technical problem solving and collaboration led by our top technical experts.Casual dress codeProfit share bonuses and an RRSP Matching ProgramFlexible workplace to support work life balance.Various professional development and employee recognition programs.Educational and professional membership dues reimbursement.Employee Referral Bonus Program.Corporate Discount Program.Check what Pinchin has to offer: Benefits (pinchin.com)What’s next?
