Overview The Village at University Gates located in Waterloo, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full Time Assistant Director of Nursing Care to join their team. Tentative Start Date: Feb 2026. The expected hiring range for this position varies by experience: 1-3 years: $81,370 to $85,800; 4-6 years: $87,550 to $94,200; 7+ years: $98,880 to $105,700. This role falls within a broader internal salary band with growth opportunities based on demonstrated performance. You will work as a key member of our leadership team to support our self-directed nursing and clinical team members in bringing to life clinical programs and quality outcomes that focus on flexible living and quality of life. Assist in supporting the clinical and nursing team in HR-related functions as well as clinical programs. Track and analyze trends, drive quality assurance initiatives, and participate in Village-wide committees and working groups. Support neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams in understanding residents’ individual needs, provide clinical leadership and guidance to colleagues, and advocate for residents to participate in decisions about their care. Provide training and education to the clinical team, and manage inventory and supplies. Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care and provide specialized clinical services and expertise. Qualifications Possess a current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Hold current Heart Save Level of CPR. Have three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting. Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members. Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role. Assets (not required) Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting RNAO membership MDS credentialed (Optional dependent on Village size). Awareness and understanding of infection control practices, WHMIS, and all relevant health and safety procedures. Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
