Area Manager – TMODs and Cabinets AtkinsRéalis Overview The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and AtkinsRéalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. It is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program that replaces the main components of six reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders, as well as construction management and trade labour. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, enabling the CANDU units to continue operating safely through 2064. Responsibilities Overall coordination of project work groups to ensure collective focus on execution goals and tracking/completion of all actions and deliverables across all work groups. Schedule development, maintenance and regular review for accuracy. Creation and implementation of Action/Recovery Plans to address any schedule performance issues. Validation and monitoring of project metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule) for assigned work segments. Identification and reporting of any resource constraints impacting planned work. Assignment of adequate resources directly to the AM for AM duties. Identification of potential changes to work per the project change management procedure. Co‑ordination with construction team to produce/validate and maintain a staffing plan and Manpower Loading Forecast (MFL) for the assigned scope. Ensuring all required materials and services are identified and ordered, with material delivery risks identified and recovery plans assigned. Ensuring all project staff, trades, etc. are fully trained for their tasks. Implementation of the project readiness process for construction execution (e.g., Detailed Window Logic, Readiness Check Sheet Implementation, Report Card Status Reporting). Attendance or representation at project planning meetings, including T‑meetings, integration meetings, internal and customer reporting meetings, etc. Coordination of prerequisite and execution task readiness in accordance with client and station reporting requirements—including schedule and risk review meetings with construction management, supervision, engineering, quality, procurement and subcontractors. Ensuring outage readiness milestones are achieved and verified. Scheduling and coordinating readiness meetings with the full cross‑functional team as required. Preparing, populating and statusing readiness check sheets based on work window schedules. Ensuring all open items related to work start readiness and work closeout are captured, assigned and prioritized based on schedule, holding stakeholders accountable for resolution. Ensuring configuration control with regard to readiness documentation including file storage on PDMC. Providing status and progress reports to customer, project team and management as needed. Adhering to all policies, standards and procedures including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager. Supporting the field team on shift as required (general guidance, schedule and priority management, adverse condition recovery, etc.). Developing and writing reports and business correspondence. Providing input to the Contract Manager for contract changes (scope details, estimate details, etc.). Providing direct support to the Training Manager/Training team to ensure training plans and execution are effective. Other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervising direct‑reporting personnel. Acting as supervisor for personnel from other departments assigned to the project portion for which the AM is responsible. Administration of succession plans and performance reviews. Preparation of job description, roles and responsibilities for staff. Ensuring all employees are fully trained for the function they are expected to fulfill. Depending on project size and type, supervising: Project Coordinator(s). Project Engineer(s). Series Leads, Engineers, SMEs. Jr. Project Coordinator, Jr. Readiness Coordinator or Engineering Co‑Op Student. Project Scheduler/Planner(s). Indirect reports from all project functions (QC, Engineering, Training, etc.). About You Technical or Business Administration Degree or equivalent. Alternate degrees/certifications in combination with applicable experience to be considered in lieu. Professional Engineer designation considered an asset. Minimum 3 years project management experience. Applied knowledge of nuclear project work, financial operations, project controls methods/standards, estimating and employee relations. Direct experience related to large‑scale Fuel Channel and/or Feeder Replacement in a CANDU power plant. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Suite programs. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fiscal Responsibility: as required/assigned by manager. Extent of Public Contact: Other Aecon Group Employees. Joint Venture and Project partners. Clients and Customers. Vendors and Subcontractors. Various licensing agencies and regulatory authorities. Physical Demands: When on a construction site, may be subject to extreme noise and heat. May be expected to climb ladders or wear fall protection depending on job location. Other Qualifications Due to the nature of work conducted by Shoreline, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information. Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred.
