Overview Your Opportunity: This role has a dominant Operating Room weighting and the successful candidate is expected to perform, produce, and record a variety of defined diagnostic imaging examinations while maintaining high quality patient care. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation for correct patient identification and examination, communicating with and preparing the patient, and positioning for the examination. The role includes preparing and/or administering imaging agents as authorized, reviewing images for completeness, sorting images, and checking with the Radiologist when necessary. The position requires maintaining quality control in all procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of images, recording necessary data in patient charts, and ensuring data entry and paperwork requirements are completed for each patient. The incumbent is responsible for safety, infection control, and radiation safety measures in their area, and for operating, maintaining, and reporting malfunctions of instrumentation and equipment. Daily quality assurance activities (e.g., daily exam logs, phantom QA, failed verification checks, image corrections) are required. Responsibilities Perform, produce, and record diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with departmental policies and quality standards. Review documentation to ensure patient identification accuracy and that the correct examination is performed. Communicate with the patient; prepare, explain, and position the patient for the examination. Prepare and/or administer imaging agents as authorized. Review images for completeness, sort images, and check with the Radiologist when necessary. Maintain quality control in the performance of all procedures; ensure quality and accuracy of images produced. Record all necessary data in patient charts and complete data entry and paperwork requirements for each patient. Adhere to safety measures and infection control practices and ensure radiation safety in the work area. Operate, maintain, and report malfunctions of all instrumentation and equipment. Perform daily Quality Assurance activities, including daily exam logs, phantom QA, failed verification checks, and image corrections as required. Perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations (general, portable, mobile and surgical suite examinations, and fluoroscopy when required). Qualifications Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma from an accredited MRT program. Active or eligible for registration with ACMDTT. Current BCLS-HCP. 2 years of experience in an acute care site. 2 years of experience in the Operating Room. Ability to operate C-arm and work collaboratively with OR staff, Surgeons, and Anesthetists. Preferred Qualifications: Good interpersonal/communication skills; ability to cooperate, work independently, and promote teamwork; strong perception, initiative, judgment, and attention to detail; tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians; ability to work under pressure and in emergencies; practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety; Epic (Connect Care) knowledge and access. #J-18808-Ljbffr
