Overbond offers the most advanced bond trading data streams and execution management system (EMS) in the market. The Overbond data streams and analytics can be integrated into the systems and workflow of any and every fixed income trading desk in the world. Overbond helps fixed income trading desks overcome the lack of a complete and centralized pricing and transaction data source for the bond markets, execute more client trades, increase the profitably of the trades that are executed, conduct pre-trade and post-trade analyses, monitor prices and risk and prepare reports. The company serves trading desks in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Overbond is headquartered in Toronto and operates a lab in Montreal that engages academics and post-graduate researchers to conduct advanced research and development in quantitative finance and AI modelling. The Opportunity This exciting new role is available as part of the Overbond engineering team expansion. The position is a unique opportunity to build creative solutions for complex problems using cutting edge technology. As a leader of our engineering team, you will be contributing to a suite of products serving the largest capital market in the world as well as mentoring junior team members. We are looking for experienced software engineering leaders who are passionate about innovative technology, have advanced knowledge with data architecture, workflow design, integrating external APIs, back-end & front-end development and automated testing.What You'll Do

    • Lead the core engineering team and mentor junior engineers
    • Guide build of the new products and features for the Overbond platform
    • Strives for excellence in development process from planning to testing
    • Responsible for development of the creative UX solutions to improve usability
    • Responsible for building of the key integrations with various market data APIs
    • Measure, coach and improve development, testing, and shipping of the new features on a regular basis
    • Our tech stack is Google Cloud Technologies, Realtime streaming pipeline, web socket API, Python data science models
What You'll Need
    • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
    • 10-20 years of professional work experience in technology development roles
    • Experience with GCP suite of technologies; Big Query, PubSub, Dataflow, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Time series data and API
    • Familiarity with Overbond product suite: Bond Trading Automation, Liquidity Scoring, Bond real-time pricing, Fixed Income ETF basket pricing, Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA), Margin Optimization and Smart Order Routing for fixed income trading
    • Knowledge of a variety of web technologies and frameworks
    • Have a high aptitude for learning new skills
    • Passionate about code quality and automated testing
    • An entrepreneurial mindset, likes working in an agile environment, driven to ship frequently
    • Proven track record of mentoring and motivating teammates
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Team-oriented, pragmatic, self-starting
    • Likes to learn and grow with teammates in a highly collaborative and open environment
    • Understanding of, or interest in, finance and investments
