Base pay range CA$110,000.00/yr - CA$145,000.00/yr Senior Electrical Engineer P.Eng My client is a fully integrated development and construction firm that specializes in both new build and tenant improvement projects across residential, multi-family and ICI projects. They are currently looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to the team. Client My client is a fully integrated development and construction company that specializes in new build and tenant improvement projects across residential multi-family and ICI projects. The company has been in operation for over 20 years, in that time they have built a solid reputation to deliver high quality design-build approach projects for their clients. Role They are currently looking to add an Electrical Engineer to the new build construction team. This team focuses on the project ranging from $20M - $80M. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design, and delivery of electrical systems for buildings of varying size and complexity. This position manages the full design process—from concept through construction—while ensuring alignment between internal design disciplines and construction teams. The engineer also serves as Engineer of Record on assigned projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and detailed design of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and code compliance. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction managers to coordinate design drawings, technical documents, and specifications. Propose and implement enhancements to design standards to optimize quality, cost-efficiency, and maintainability. Perform site inspections, field reviews, and building condition assessments to verify design intent and quality. Provide technical guidance for site instructions, potential change orders, and responses to contractor inquiries. Recognize and proactively manage contractual and professional risks associated with project delivery. Support and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering professional development and technical growth. Prepare and present detailed reports, technical analyses, and system assessments. Communicate and coordinate with regulatory agencies to resolve technical and compliance matters. Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements P.Eng designation required and registered with EGBC. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A minimum of 3 years in an P.Eng electrical engineering role. Have worked on new build construction projects in North America (Commercial, institutional or residential). Have a detailed understanding of electrical systems in BC including detailed design drawings, tender packages, budgets, shop drawings and commissioning phases. Confident with BIM/Revit. Working knowledge of BC building codes and national building codes. Strong communicator and confident dealing with clients.
