Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor - Telecommunications Join to apply for the Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor - Telecommunications role at Ledcor. You will play a key role in the execution and implementation of a diverse range of health and safety programs for Telecommunication projects. Your responsibilities will include developing and enhancing Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents, supporting operations personnel to meet Ledcor ‘Leading Indicator’ requirements, and continuously seeking innovative solutions to support projects. As an HS&E Coordinator, you are a problem solver, a strong communicator, and you consistently look for practical ways to improve health, safety, and environmental performance. Your work will involve building collaborative relationships with operational teams, field supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Essential Responsibilities Conduct inspections of the work area and meet with field supervisors to discuss potential problems, ensuring adequate safety equipment is available and monitoring environmental hazards. Provide field supervisors and employees with services and advice on HS&E related issues, conduct site safety orientation for new employees and train where required. Collaborate with the HS&E manager and coordinators across LTS to develop, revise and implement procedures, standards, rules, and regulations; provide education and mentoring to field supervisors. Build and maintain a trusting relationship with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Verify that HS&E plans, safe work processes and hazard assessments are current and updated as the scope of work changes; support site leadership with look‑ahead planning. Assist in the investigation of incidents to determine causation and support the development of corrective actions and continuous improvement monitoring. Monitor and report on the overall effectiveness of the implementation of project HS&E plans. Audit the quality of field level hazard assessments and incident investigation reports for accuracy and completeness. Provide support to site leadership in preparing materials for safety meetings and toolbox talks. Qualifications 3+ years of related work experience in construction or telecommunications safety roles (Telecom experience preferred). Certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety; CRSP, CSO, or NCSO designation is an asset. Technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with the hourly workforce, project management staff, clients, and customers. Proactive approach to safety, including identification and resolution of operational and organizational issues. Experience in risk assessment, program development, safety and health training, and accident investigation. Strong computer competency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Capacity to adapt communication style to the audience and influence consensus in straightforward situations. Team player with adaptability to changing priorities and demands. Valid provincial driver’s license and driver’s abstract.
