The Role KGS Group is seeking a Structural Department Head in our Vancouver office. In this role, you will have the ability to lead, develop, manage and motivate an emerging team of engineers, technicians and scientists with a focus on all aspects of structural scopes of work for clients in various industries and markets. The successful candidate will have the freedom and flexibility to continue to grow the team based on Vancouver. Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, manage, and motivate an emerging team of engineers, technicians and scientists with a focus on hydro structural work. Produce, supervise, and manage engineering deliverables on a variety of projects. Tracking and managing key performance metrics for the department Participate in business development activities, including assessing Go/No-Go opportunities with the Market Lead and Regional Manager, while leading and writing proposals. Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines within the company to execute projects. Helping to maintain strong relationships with clients. Train, coach, supervise, and mentor staff with their career growth and professional development. Highly proactive with exceptional problem solving/analytical skills. Coordinating with external consultants, vendors as required to ensure smooth project delivery. Strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint). Participate in and promote KGS Group’s safety-first culture. About You Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Registration as a Professional Engineer with EGM. 15 years or more of structural engineering experience. Strong project management, leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaborative skills, and ability to provide effective technical mentoring to less experienced engineers. Experience working directly with clients and managing/fostering existing relationships in addition to forming new ones. Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce, review, and delegate technical reports, proposals and other forms of non-formal written communication. Entrepreneurial mindset and propensity for business development will be considered a strong asset for this role. What we offer?
