Become a Water and Wastewater Operator with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) and play a vital role in maintaining water safety and community health. Engage in operating facilities and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing water and wastewater facilities across Ontario. This role requires a valid Operator-in-Training (OIT) certificate or higher level and knowledge of relevant maintenance practices. With your problem-solving skills, you will inspect processes, conduct maintenance, and resolve operational issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain water treatment facilities safely
• Conduct routine sampling and monitor chemical processes
• Maintain equipment according to regulations
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines
• Respond to on-call duties as required
Requirements:
• OIT certificate or higher certification in water operations
• Valid Class G driver’s license
• Experience in mechanical maintenance practices
• Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance systems
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and reporting Support communities and thrive through innovative practices in water management with OCWA. #J-18808-Ljbffr
