Overview Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Hydropower An overview of your future role at BBA Manage and perform various mechanical projects for turbines, generators, mechanical speed governors, bearing lubrication and cooling, balancing and alignment of rotating parts, hydromechanical valves and balance of plant for refurbishment projects and new hydroelectric powerplants / pumped storage projects Play a leading role in client communications for your mandates Be a key team member in executing small to major modernization or new installation projects Solve complex problems related to mechanical components in hydroelectric power plants Identify, plan and organize client needs to assess the condition of their units and conduct power upgrade studies (turbines and generators) Lead onsite inspections, diagnostics, commissioning and testing Represent your area of expertise and promote it to potential clients and specialized groups in the hydropower sector Mentor and coach junior engineers by actively sharing your knowledge and encouraging skill development within the team Foster a workplace culture that promotes having fun while delivering high-quality professional work Culture fit Inspirational leadership Constantly seeking sustainable and agile solutions Client-oriented and results-driven Strong intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial skills Efficient, both on site and at the office Overview of job requirements University degree in mechanical engineering From 5 to 14 years of relevant experience in the hydropower sector Relevant experience with inspections, condition assessments, installation, commissioning and testing Must be a registered P.Eng. with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or another Canadian province Driver’s licence Overview of BBA’s total Awards Annual base salary Annual premium program for regular employees Access to a time bank Onsite mobility premium Cellphone Program Group insurance plan starting day one including short-term and long-term disability insurance for regular employees and telemedicine program Retirement saving plan for regular employees Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program With us, you’ll get many benefits Serve as a mentor to our next generation: We invest in our people and help them develop Be part of a collaborative team that shares its ideas and technical knowledge Join a growing business with many opportunities.
