This diverse team of professionals works with more than 250 Indigenous peoples, groups and organizations across Canada and shares a passion for learning and understanding their history, culture and contributions to our country. As a trusted advisor, you’ll use cutting‑edge technology to deliver a full suite of services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.*Note that this role is not suitable for someone looking to pursue their CPA designation.ResponsibilitiesAssist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for MNP clientsPrepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactionsSet up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planningMaintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploadsIdentify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutionsCommunicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installmentsWork collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and team membersOccasional travel to various local office locations and client premises may be requiredSkills and ExperienceAccounting certificate or a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting, finance or management information systems (MIS) major is considered an asset)Minimum two years of bookkeeping experienceExperience executing accounting system implementations; conversion experience moving from desktop-based products to cloud applications is preferredExperience working with Indigenous clients is considered an assetExperience working with desktop-based small business accounting packages, including QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, Sage 300, Xyntax, Adagio and/or other legacy desktop productsExperience working with cloud-based accounting packages is considered an asset (e.g., QBO, Xero, Sage Intacct)Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Image editing software (i.e., GIMP, Snag It)MyRewards@MNPWith a focus on high‑potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office.
