Are you looking to… Support aquatics and wildlife projects, which will include field programs as a crew second Have autonomy and the opportunity to interact and work with a community of technical experts from other Montrose regions. Partner with extensive, long-standing clients such as municipal governments, conservation authorities, academia, and private industry. Join a well-respected environmental consulting company engaged in interesting, dynamic work As a Aquatics & Wildlife Co-op or Summer Student, you will join our Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta offices as part of our Western Aquatics & Wildlife team for a 4 or 8-month term starting May 2026. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of soil, vegetation, wetlands and wildlife projects with responsibilities as follows: Active participation in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture Assist with the coordination and execution of aquatics and wildlife surveys Assist with field survey data management Assist with the preparation of reports Travel, often to remote locations, will be required to carry out field programs. What We Are Looking For Must be enrolled in terrestrial ecology, biology, environmental science, renewable resource management or similar technical or undergraduate program at a recognized post-secondary institution Strong oral and written communication skills A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions. Experience with off-highway vehicles (i.e., ARGO, UTV) and trailer towing would be considered an asset Cares about their safety and the safety of others Brings knowledge of terrestrial sciences and assessment practices Works easily in a team Is thoughtful, thorough and inquisitive in completing office and field tasks Has energy and desire to support others and respond to the changing needs of a dynamic environment Why Choose Montrose?
