With a long history of serving Canada’s property and casualty insurers, as well as institutions that self-insure property and casualty risks, we now bring that level of detail and diligence to areas like real estate, family law, wills and estates, and private legal matters.Position OverviewAs an Insurance Defence Law Clerk at Reeves Richarz, LLP, you will work with an assigned associate to manage and handle litigated matters related to bodily injury and accident benefits claims. You will support the associate through the legal processes, from discovery and mediation to motion hearings and trial preparation.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and file LAT applications and appeals for clients seeking accident benefits under SABS.Draft detailed reports, documents, and correspondence related to LAT/SABS matters.Assist in gathering, organizing, and reviewing medical records and other evidence required for LAT applications.Communicate with clients, adjusters, and other parties regarding the status of claims, updates, and documentation.Research relevant legislation, case law, and tribunal decisions to support ongoing matters.Coordinate deadlines and ensure all filings are completed accurately and on time.Assist the legal team in preparing for hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.Maintain client files, ensuring all necessary documents are organized and up-to-date.Stay current on LAT and SABS-related changes in legislation, regulations, and case law.Brief and update files, review and summarize medical documentation, and follow up on undertakings and productions.Qualifications:Completion of a Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent post‑secondary education.Strong understanding of the SABS process, LAT procedures, and relevant legal documentation.Proficient in the Rules of Civil Procedure and MS Word/DMS environment.Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a team setting.Hands‑on, proactive approach to work, with a professional and deadline‑oriented attitude.Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Benefits:We offer a competitive salary of $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 (based on experience).Our benefits package includes long‑term disability insurance, life insurance, and extensive health, dental, and vision coverage.We provide options for flexible remote work opportunities.How to Apply:Please apply online or submit your resume and a cover letter to in confidence to James MacInnis at JMacInnis@ReevesRicharz.com.Please note that only individuals chosen for an interview will receive further communication.Sign in to set job alerts for 'Law Clerk' roles.Seniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionLegalIndustries: Law Practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
