We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team and lead our Instrumentation division for projects and maintenance/reliability. Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation systems at client sites. The role requires hands-on field experience and a strong understanding of process instrumentation & controls. This position involves both office and field work , including travel to project sites across Manitoba and occasionally to other provinces. Key Job Responsibilities: Install, calibrate, and commission field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical devices). Perform loop checks, I/O testing, and signal verification during commissioning. Troubleshoot control systems, transmitters, and PLC interface issues. Interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and loop diagrams. Support integration between PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. Work collaboratively with project engineers and control system specialists. Ensure instrumentation installations meet CSA/ISA standards and client specifications. Document calibration records, as-built markups, and maintenance logs. Help in planning, supervision, coordination. Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance during field activities. Comply with site safety procedures and participate in hazard assessments. Qualifications: Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation & Control. Red Seal Instrumentation Technician Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in industrial instrumentation work. Proficiency in calibration and troubleshooting of 4–20 mA , HART , Modbus , and Ethernet/IP devices. Familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, or equivalent). Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites. Strong documentation and communication skills. Assets: Experience with flow metering , analytical instrumentation , and control valve calibration . Knowledge of CSA , ISA , and OH&S standards. Ability to read and update P&IDs , loop sheets , and instrument index . Site commissioning and startup experience for industrial or hospital projects.
