The role requires flexible 7‑day, 24‑hour coverage and travel to other locations as needed. Responsibilities Maintain a structured, trauma‑informed, safe setting for 24/7 youth care in the Terry Fox House live‑in program. Coordinate education and employment support, life‑skills programming, and transitional planning with the Toronto District School Board. Lead shift work, including day, evening, overnight, weekday, weekend, and extended shifts as required. Support case management including intake, planning meetings, and tracking of youth needs (clothing, hygiene, medical/dental/health appointments). Communicate with parents/guardians, allies, resource persons, probation officers, and court as necessary. Assist youth and families in reaching their individual goals and maintain accurate logs using case‑management software. Prepare and pre‑cook dinner following safe food‑handling protocols. De‑escalate crisis situations and treat youth safely in accordance with agency policies and legislation. Participate in supervision, training, and developmental growth of new staff, students, and volunteers. Engage in individual and team meetings, supervisory meetings, planning sessions, and designated trainings. Model the agency’s philosophy, mission, values, and beliefs at all times. Perform security calls, house checks, audit program logs, and document as policy requires. Execute other responsibilities as assigned and support program evaluation, reporting, and strategic planning as needed. Qualifications Diploma/Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related field. Minimum one year experience working with youth who have experienced trauma in a trauma‑informed framework. Demonstrated crisis prevention and intervention experience. Direct experience engaging with diverse populations and applying a culturally responsive lens. Valid G driver’s license. Strong understanding of systemic barriers affecting youth and how they impact youth and their families. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders effectively, respectfully, and efficiently with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Valid first‑aid, CPR, CPI, ASIST certificates (asset). Case‑management experience and experience in a live‑in program are preferred. Additional Assets Understanding of relevant legislation and institutional policies (Youth Criminal Justice Act, Education Act, Safe Schools Act). Experience within a licensed residential setting (asset). Knowledge of social service agencies operating in Toronto and willingness to broaden knowledge for clients from outside the geographic area.
