Base pay range CA$55,000.00/yr - CA$85,000.00/yr Position Overview The Fund Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of daily priced pooled funds, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role offers an opportunity to enhance a strong foundation in fund accounting while working closely with Senior Fund Accountants, Management, Technology and the Investment Fund Management Team. Key Responsibilities Perform daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and calculating daily NAVs after market close. Ensure all fund-related transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the accounting system. Prepare and file regulatory reports and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Develop and/or support process improvement and efficiency initiatives. Assist with the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation. Work closely with the FA Manager and other Fund Accountants to resolve discrepancies and address any accounting issues. Monitor cash flow and coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper fund liquidity management. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reports. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance accounting skills and knowledge. Facilitate the onboarding of new funds and fund structures, ensuring smooth transitions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-5 years of experience in fund accounting or a related financial role. Basic knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Fund Accounting software as well as an aptitude to learn. Mfact experience would be considered an asset. Eagerness to enhance & develop in the field of fund accounting. Work hours are 11am to 7pm EST.Position is open to fully remote candidates who reside in Mountain Time or Pacific Standard Time.
