Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.ResponsibilitiesDesign of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection services within the built environment with an emphasis on sustainable designCollaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for sophisticated buildingsPerform engineering analysis and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, facade thermal analysis, and airflow modellingModel mechanical pipework, ductwork, and plant within Revit MEP, and carry out engineering calculations and analysisCommunicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshopsWrite reports detailing calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical informationPrioritize effectively and maintain organization in a constantly evolving environmentInfluence design toward sustainable outcomes that align with Arup’s commitmentsAttend sites for design or construction reviewsSupport towards gaining professional registration with PEO/OIQ/APEGAQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in mechanical, architectural engineering, building sciences, or any relevant engineering disciplineCoursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or HVAC designDeveloping curiosity about the built environmentDemonstrated time management and effective communication skillsInitiative, passion, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativityStrong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based workPresentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levelsMust be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the futurePreferredEligible to become a member of the PEO/OIQ/APEGAMinimum GPA 3.0 or higherInterest in sustainable building designInternship experience in an engineering-related firmPassed Fundamentals of Engineering examinationExperience with Energy/thermal modeling, Revit or 3D modeling, and sustainabilityProgramming skills (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper)Leadership experienceWhat We OfferWe provide an attractive total reward package, opportunities for learning and mentorship, and a culture that supports health and wellbeing.
