OverviewYour Opportunity: Pharmacy Assistants work in a team under the direct supervision of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists, with limited supervision from the Operations Manager. They perform essential medication-related duties in the Pharmacy Services Program, including following workflow directions from Regulated Professionals, medication selection and replenishment to established quotas, transportation to care units and departments, repacking and labeling for final check, inventory transfer/credit including controlled substances, inventory rotation, ordering and receiving supplies and medications, maintaining a respectful and collaborative work environment, and clerical duties as assigned. Routine physical cleaning and maintenance of pharmacy equipment and a safe, tidy workspace. Prepare reports from pharmacy systems and file as needed. Communicates unit-based and clinical issues to Regulated Pharmacy staff for resolution. Participates in hospital, departmental and/or quality assurance activities to maintain standards. Retail pharmacy experience and graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program acceptable to the Employer. Demonstrate proficiency in communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, and computer skills. Must be in good physical condition as the majority of shift involves typing, static positions, visual acuity, heavy lifting and grip strength, twisting, standing, crouching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods of time. Demonstration of reliability required of essential work in healthcare.Preferred Qualifications: EPIC & EPIC Inventory Experience; service provision of both acute and long-term patient care; distribution experience specific to barcoding, compounding & repackaging, dispensing functionality, medication transfers – ordering – receiving, monitoring – par & opti – medication recalls – medication backorders; rural experience in North Zone. #J-18808-Ljbffr
