We care for the mother so she can thrive in caring for her baby.About the Role:We are seeking Certified Postpartum Doulas based in Ottawa to join our growing Care Team. As a key member of the Alma Care family, you will deliver in-home, personalized support to new mothers and their babies. You’ll bring compassion, professionalism, and expertise into every home you enter—becoming a trusted source of comfort, education, and hands-on care during a family's most intimate and transformative time.Learn more at https://www.almacare.ca/careersKey Responsibilities:Provide in-home postpartum doula support for daytime (min. 4 hrs) and overnight shifts (10–12 hrs)Support physical and emotional recovery of the mother following birthAssist and educate on infant care basics: feeding (breast/chest and bottle), soothing, sleeping, diapering, and bathingOffer non-judgmental emotional support, reassurance, and active listeningMonitor and encourage healthy postpartum healing practicesPrepare and serve nourishing meals/snacks in line with postpartum wellnessLead or support Alma Care workshops on postpartum recovery and infant careProvide infant care while mothers rest, shower, or attend appointmentsLight housework related to mother and baby’s needsMaintain thorough, respectful communication and documentationAbout You:Certified Postpartum Doula with hands-on postpartum care experienceExperienced in infant feeding support, including breastfeeding and sleep guidanceDeep understanding of the emotional and physical needs of postpartum mothersCalm, nurturing, reliable and adaptable with excellent communication skillsPassionate about improving postpartum care in CanadaAble to travel to homes within a 40km radius of your residenceRespectful of diverse family structures, cultures, and parenting philosophiesExperience with twins or multiples is a strong assetQualifications:Certification from a recognized postpartum doula training organization (e.g. DONA, CAPPA, ProDoula, etc.)Current Infant CPR (Level B) and First Aid certificationValid Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the past year)Food Handlers Certification (preferred)Personal liability insurance requiredDriver’s license and access to reliable transportation (asset)Schedule:Minimum of 3 shifts per week (combination of day, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday availability)On-call flexibility appreciatedWork with a mission-driven team reshaping postpartum careOpportunity to be part of an innovative model of maternal wellness #J-18808-Ljbffr
