Neuropsychologist PhD, Haematology/Oncology Program (0.6- 1.00 FTE, 1-year contract)Dedicated exclusively to children and their families, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is one of the largest and most respected paediatric healthcare centres in the world. As innovators in child health, we lead and partner to improve the health of children through the integration of healthcare, leading-edge research and education.Our Department of Psychology is a respected leader in Precision Child Health, integrating clinical care, research and education through an equity-focused and inclusive lens. We are currently looking for a Neuropsychologist to assess and diagnose cognitive, behavioural, and socio-emotional problems associated with haematology and oncology conditions and their treatment.Key Responsibilities:Design and carry out consultations, screening, targeted or comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to relate current cognitive, behavioural, and social-emotional functioning to a child's medical and neurodevelopmental history and treatments.Write reports with recommendations and communicate assessment results and recommendations within a patient and family-centered approach to care.Provide feedback to families and clinic teams.Consult with school teams, rehabilitation providers, and other health and educational professionals.Work collaboratively and professionally to support patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team.Actively engage in clinical research, program development, and quality initiatives.Mentor and supervise practicum students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows.Integrate research and clinical practice to ensure ethical, evidence-informed patient care.Work within the Hybrid model of care (Virtual/Onsite).Requirements:A Ph.D. in Clinical or Neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited program or equivalent.Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario, with competency in Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology.Post-doctoral training in Neuropsychology.Strong proficiency in paediatric neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis of children and adolescents age 4-18 with developmental and medical conditions.Proficiency with interviewing and educating families.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Excellent analytical, evaluative, time-management, and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to prioritize patient care needs in an efficient and organized manner.Outstanding ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.SickKids is committed to championing equity, diversity, and inclusion in all that we do, fostering an intentionally inclusive and culturally safe environment that reflects the diversity of the patients, families, and communities we serve.If you require accommodation during the application process, please reach out to our aSKHR team.
