Dietary Aide, Part time student (IEM DT Stdt1 0.13) – AgeCare, Elmira Join AgeCare’s team of dedicated caregivers. As a Dietary Aide, you will support residents by preparing and serving meals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in Elmira. We believe in working in residents’ homes, dedicating ourselves to a comfortable and person‑centered environment. Working in long‑term care is more than a job; it is a calling for many of us. Responsibilities Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner. Assist in the set up and preparation for service of items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc. Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required. Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each seating. Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required. Assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events. Qualifications Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate. Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors. Must possess or be enrolled in a Food Service Worker Training Program. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items, and stand/walk for the majority of the shift. Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset. Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a criminal background check) or be willing to obtain one.
