OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Policy Writer – Operational Risk to support the remediation, uplift, and development of enterprise-wide operational risk policy documentation within a large financial institution. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in banking risk management and a proven ability to write clear, regulator-ready policies, standards, and procedures aligned to evolving enterprise and regulatory expectations. This role will work closely with Operational Risk partners and stakeholders to review existing documentation, map policies to current expectations, and author new materials where gaps exist. The ideal candidate is a senior-level professional with strong judgment, exceptional writing skills, and a solid understanding of how operational risk frameworks function within a complex banking environment. Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days in office, flexible alignment with colleagues)Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST Pay Rate: IC: $66/h T4: $57/h RESPONSIBILITIES Support the remediation, uplift, and authoring of Operational Risk policy documentation across the enterprise. Review and assess existing policy, standard, and procedure documents, mapping them to current enterprise and regulatory expectations. Write new Operational Risk Management policies and supporting documentation from scratch where required. Uplift risk management framework documentation to align with updated governance, control, and regulatory standards. Ensure policies are written for an enterprise-wide audience and are clear, consistent, and regulator-ready. Partner with Operational Risk stakeholders to validate content, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment with business and control functions. Maintain strong documentation standards, version control, and audit-ready outputs. Provide subject-matter expertise on operational risk concepts, frameworks, and banking risk practices. QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years of experience within financial services or banking. 8+ years of hands‑on experience writing risk management policy documentation. Strong understanding of Operational Risk Management within a banking environment. Professional-level knowledge of enterprise bank risk management frameworks. Demonstrated ability to review, revise, and author documents at the policy, standard, and procedure level. Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, structured documentation. Proven experience producing documentation suitable for enterprise-wide and regulatory audiences. PREFERRED Experience with policy remediation, policy uplift, or regulatory‑driven documentation initiatives. Background working within large, Tier‑1 financial institutions. Familiarity with enterprise risk governance, controls, and regulatory expectations. EDUCATION Post‑secondary degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Law, or a related discipline.
