Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Director, Finance to join a high‑growth mining company advancing from exploration toward early‑stage development. As the company scales its activities, the CFO is seeking a senior finance leader with strong FP&A capability, hands‑on commercial experience, and exposure to day‑to‑day operations in mining or another flow‑through intensive industry. This role goes beyond oversight of reporting: it is a key internal partner to operations, budgeting, contract analysis, and financial planning as the organization prepares for its next phase of growth.ResponsibilitiesLead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across exploration and development activitiesProvide commercial support to operational leaders, including contract analysis, vendor negotiations, and spend evaluationBuild and refine the monthly budget‑to‑actuals process and develop meaningful management reportingPartner closely with the outsourced accounting provider (Sentinel) responsible for bookkeeping and month‑end closeStrengthen internal finance capability by bringing operational visibility into financial decision‑makingSupport policy development in areas such as flow‑through expenditures, tax filings, and documentationCollaborate with the CFO on strategic planning, project economics, and long‑range financial modelsEnsure data accuracy and financial integrity in support of board materials, cashflow oversight, and corporate governanceContribute insight into future system improvements as the company maturesParticipate in occasional site visits to better understand operational drivers and team needsRequirementsCPA or equivalent accounting designation requiredMinimum 8 years of progressive accounting and reporting experiencePublic company experience is required, ideally in mining or a capital‑intensive sectorProven ability to set up and lead finance processes in lean, hands‑on environmentsFamiliarity with disclosure obligations and reporting to boards or audit committeesStrong systems orientation; experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Beanworks is helpfulPractical, solutions‑focused mindset with strong relationship and communication skillsRemunerationBase salary: $160,000 - $180,000Short‑term incentive: 20 percent targetLong‑term incentive: 20 percent targetCompetitive benefits packageOnly candidates eligible to work in Canada will be consideredHorizon Recruitment Inc. is a specialized recruitment and search firm with two complimentary practice areas: Finance & Supply Chain. #J-18808-Ljbffr
