Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid) Contract Type: Indefinite, Full-Time Reports to: Manager, Student Recruitment Salary Range: $66,550 – $79,000 per annum (Based on qualifications, experience, and internal parity) Job Summary The Student Recruitment Team at CPABC plays a crucial role in building awareness and attracting talented individuals to pursue the CPA profession. The Student Recruitment Officer is responsible for building awareness and interest in accounting careers and the CPA designation, with a focus on an assigned market portfolio and/or region. This role increases the visibility of the profession by coordinating events, delivering presentations, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating sponsorships, and providing career advisory services. Through these efforts, you will ensure a steady influx of talented individuals prepared to bring superior financial expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to organizations. Key Responsibilities Event Planning and Outreach Activities Deliver engaging information sessions, both online and in-person, to build awareness and interest in the CPA profession. Plan, coordinate, and implement logistics for recruitment initiatives, including marketing, venue liaison, registration management, speaker/employer recruitment, hosting events, and collecting feedback. Attend events at assigned schools and partner organizations, presenting on the CPA program and offering career advisory support. Identify career events and negotiate sponsorship agreements to enhance the CPA brand and facilitate networking between employers and prospective students/candidates. Actively promote CPABC services and events, such as the CareerConnect Program, to increase student interest and enrollment in CPA PREP and PEP programs. Oversee an assigned budget, tracking all expenses to ensure activities remain within budget and comply with organizational policies. Travel within the province of BC and/or Yukon (up to 30% of the time) to attend events, deliver presentations, and conduct meetings. Career Advisory Services Provide one-on-one career advisory services, guiding prospective students/candidates through the benefits of the CPA designation and helping them make informed career decisions. Address inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information and resources about the CPA program and career pathways. Identify and understand barriers to entry and provide appropriate advice to help individuals overcome these obstacles. Meet key performance metrics for career advisory appointments and recruitment activities within the assigned market portfolio and region. Maintain records of advisory appointments and measure outcomes to assess effectiveness, contributing data and insights to weekly, quarterly, and annual reports. Stakeholder Relationship Management Promote the CPA designation and brand by actively building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, educators, career counselors, student groups, and industry partners. Regularly meet with stakeholders to learn about prospective students’ interests and market trends to inform management decisions. Represent CPABC at various events and meetings to promote the profession and strengthen partnerships through regular communication. Update stakeholders on CPA program developments, career insights, and market trends to foster long-term engagement. Key Requirements Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field. Proven experience in student recruitment, event planning, career advising, or a related field. Experience working with educational institutions and student groups is an asset. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and project management skills. Interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail, refined organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe. Proficiency in event management. Must hold a valid B.C. driver’s license and have regular access to a vehicle, as the role requires travel within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and outreach activities. Preferred Qualifications Registered International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) training through the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), or willingness to obtain this certification within one year of appointment.
