Job Summary As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting computer and software issues, and ensuring effective day-to-day technology operations for our team and clients. Key Responsibilities Provide first-line technical support, respond to requests via phone, email, or ticketing system. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and IT equipment. Set up new user accounts, email, network access, and manage user permissions. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (wired and wireless). Document support activities, solutions provided, and escalates complex issues to management or higher‑level IT staff as required. Support IT inventory management and asset tracking. Deliver excellent customer service and effectively communicate technical information to non‑technical users. Maintain the security and confidentiality of all company and client data. Requirements Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 1+ years’ experience in technical support, help desk, or IT support environment preferred. Solid understanding of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi). Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, email communications, and presentations effectively. Assets (Nice to Have) Experience with cloud platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.). IT certifications (A+, Network+, MCSA or similar). Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
