Faced with the challenges of rural care delivery, WPSHC has partnered in regional alliances and created internal programming solutions that have benefited patient care and improved services throughout the catchment area. Today our uniquely integrated health care organization includes Lakeland Long Term Care, six Nurse Practitioner Led Clinics delivering care to rural communities, management of District ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90-bed acute care hospital. WPSHC's innovative approach to integration has benefited the community through more seamless local delivery of services, improved access to primary care, a wider understanding of local needs and the ability to respond as these needs continue to evolve. West Parry Sound Health Centre Nurse Practitioner Led Clinics serve approximately 6000km2 with six sites through a service model that was the first-ever partnership between an NPLC and an acute care facility. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team dedicated and passionate about healthcare in a rural setting. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the successful applicant works as a member of the management team providing leadership to the six Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic sites to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe patient care in a fiscally responsible manner and in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Objectives of West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). The successful candidate will have extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, performance and quality management. Primary Responsibilities: Planning, directing, and implementing policies, operating plans and processes that improve quality of care and functioning of the Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic sites.
Providing guidance and leadership to NPLC site nurse practitioner managers, staff, and programs and services aligned with this portfolio.
Fiscal responsibility and development of the annual operating budget.
Human resource planning, recruitment, and performance management.
Establishing, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Overseeing the monitoring of key performance indicators and quality improvement activities.
Demonstrating innovative approaches to care delivery, acknowledging our critical role in the Ontario healthcare system.
More About You To qualify for the role, you will need to have: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Population Health, or related health care field.
Educational preparation / courses in leadership and management.
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a leadership role.
Experience with operational responsibilities and program development.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, change management, conflict resolution, problem solving and team building skills.
Demonstrated participatory leadership style that includes approachability, visibility and accessibility.
Demonstrated ability to assess, manage and plan for human resource needs utilizing recruitment and retention strategies.
Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
