Clinical Biochemist, Pathology and Lab Medicine The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Level with diagnostic and academic interests in Clinical Biochemistry. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2026 or a mutually agreed upon date. Location Mount Sinai Hospital Campus - Toronto, ON M5G 1X5 CA (Primary). Responsibilities Oversee analytical and quality aspects of laboratory services. Provide on‑call clinical chemistry service. Interpret test results. Approve special test requests. Validate and implement new tests. Consult and collaborate with health professionals and learners. Participate in quality improvement and assurance activities. Qualifications PhD degree and certification (or eligibility) in clinical chemistry by the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (CACB) and/or American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC). Experience or training in routine biochemistry, special chemistry, automation, point of care testing, and other leading‑edge biochemical diagnostics. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; strong scholarly activity interest. Preferred: expertise in data analytics and/or health informatics. Teaching & Academic Requirements Postgraduate teaching in the Postdoctoral Training Program in Clinical Chemistry at the University of Toronto; eligibility for academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
