What You’ll Be Doing
As a Production Support Consultant in the ECIS Production Support Team, you’ll be helping to manage the production support for ECIS Mainframe applications, one of the backbones of CIBC.
This role will be closely interacting with our business partners to solve and advise on client/user problems for the RCIF and CMS applications, managing the complex series of batch processes which ECIS has in place, dealing with any production issues which arise for those applications, working with various business and technical teams for information requests about data within ECIS and assisting QA and Dev teams for new projects.
How You’ll Succeed
- Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
- Core Application Systems - Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients.
- Managing Multiple Priorities - Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
- System and Console Operations - Knowledge and ability to operate computer systems to run production, development processing and perform systems maintenance tasks.
- Technical Troubleshooting - Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
- Hardware Infrastructure - Familiarity with hardware technology and the global, regional and local hardware architecture.
- Oral Communications - Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.
- Systems Software Infrastructure - Knowledge of the existing and planned software technology and the global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
- Written Communications - Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience working with large Mainframe applications (IMS and DB2), especially in the financial industry. Showcase your ability to query and retrieve data, troubleshoot batch issues, and understand the status of the infrastructure.
- You can demonstrate experience working in the IT industry for at least 5 years with working knowledge and understanding of the construction of SQL queries to obtain data from application databases and familiarity with Oracle databases in particular; together with familiarity with common programming and scripting languages.
