Base pay range CA$45,000.00/yr - CA$50,000.00/yr At Merit Kitchens, the Designer – Sales Consultant is the first point of contact for retail and commercial clients, both in person and virtually and is responsible for generating revenue through sales as a brand ambassador. You will be required to consult with clients to identify their project scope of work and create functional designs using Merit cabinetry. You will also be responsible for developing detailed plans, renderings, quotes, and contract paperwork for design projects. Designer and Sales Representative Engage with walk-in clients, homeowners, and builders to generate new business. Consult with clients to understand project scope, style preferences, finishes, layout, and budget. Create functional, innovative, and aesthetically pleasing designs using 20/20 design software. Prepare accurate quotes, renderings, detailed plans, and contracts. Client presentations to review designs and quotes. Attend project site visits for measures and installations. Maintain CRM records and follow through on all leads and opportunities. Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Adopt excellent communication methods and effective sales approaches/methodologies. Build a strong network by attending industry events, trade shows, and conferences to stay up to date with current and upcoming trends, market conditions, etc. Attend Product Knowledge sessions with suppliers and reps. Ensure showroom is in clean, stocked, and in operational condition. May need to assist in updating displays if required. Resolve design/project related issues professionally and efficiently. Comply with company policies & procedures. Uphold Merit Kitchens core values, mission, and vision. The Designer and Sales Representative may perform other duties delegated by management. Candidate Requirements 2+ years of experience of sales and business development experience in a related industry. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency with 20/20 design software or a software that is similar. Knowledge of NKBA standards is considered an asset. Proven understanding of industry products, services, and sales techniques. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. A collaborative team player that can work well around people and honor our customer first vision. Quick learner with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude. Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks. Flexibility with working hours, including weekends (must be available to work Saturdays). Have your own vehicle with a valid driver’s license (car allowance is provided).
