OverviewPhysiotherapist II role at Alberta Health Services in St. Paul, rural generalist position providing physiotherapy services to clients at St. Paul Health Centre, potentially including ambulatory outpatients, acute care and continuing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.Supervise students and team members as assigned.Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up.Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care.Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and aligned with Alberta legislation, professional standards, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines.Coordinate day-to-day operations of the assigned service area; monitor care delivery; identify service needs; assist other medical staff with caseload management; complete chart audits; provide follow-up and feedback to staff.Participate in program development and operational planning; represent the department on committees or programs.Make staffing level, workflow and caseload priority decisions in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.Support access to a provincial network of experienced clinicians for guidance via email, phone and virtual meetings; share patient information in real time as part of transitioning to Connect Care.QualificationsMaster’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program with related experience.Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.Certification in Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation).Preferred QualificationsNew grads are welcome to apply.Preferably one year of experience in a rural generalist position.AADL authorizer status for mobility aids is an asset.Job DetailsLocation: St. Paul Health Centre (St. Paul, Alberta)Position type: Regular Part Time (0.60 FTE)Shifts: Days; 7.75 hours per shift; 6 shifts per cycle; 2-week length of cycleHours per week and schedule details as per rotationSalary: Minimum $41.12; Maximum $54.61 per hourVehicle requirement: Driver’s License and vehicle requiredPosting End Date: 28-NOV-2025Date Available: 08-DEC-2025Note: Content is focused on the role, qualifications and responsibilities tied to the Physiotherapist II position at Alberta Health Services.
