One of our manufacturing clients in Guelph, ON region is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer for their facility.

Shift: Days

Responsibilities

  • Examine designated procedures to identify the fundamental causes of existing and potential defects; employ remedies through various available approaches.
  • Assess designated procedures to formulate enhancements for safety, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Record the current process using standard, measurable data.
  • Assess the efficacy of the permanent solution using the same set of data.
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and managers to execute solutions.
  • Ensure that the production team comprehensively grasps the solutions, enabling them to sustain the improvements and implement further gradual adjustments.
  • Develop jigs and fixtures for the assembly and welding departments.
  • Compile comprehensive work instructions for operators.
  • Manage contracts and coordinate with suppliers for various assembly and process improvement equipment.
  • Provide cost justifications for both capital and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in lean manufacturing principles, quality systems, metal forming, welding, and the interpretation of blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Possess a diploma in Engineering Technology or a related post-secondary program.
  • Have accumulated over 7 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Essential expertise in welding processes.
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is advantageous.
