However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.About The RoleWe’re looking for an Underwriter I, Commercial Lines, to join our growing teamWhat You'll Do HereParticipate In broker visits, Insurance Industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.Make recommendations to improve the department processes and increase efficiency.Analyze requests for quotes and recommend innovative solutionsFocus on building relationships while underwriting and rating policiesProvides technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team membersAssess, evaluate and negotiate on moderate to complex risks.What You Bring To The TableCommercial underwriting experience (P&C)University Degree or College Diploma requiredVery strong sales and customer service skillsCompletion of or progress toward a CIP designation is an assetMaintain an expert and current understanding of all relevant Commercial Underwriting Guides and instructions related theretoDemonstrate the ability to handle complex risksAwareness of local community conditions and insurance issuesStrong negotiating skills and business savvyInitiative and ability to work under pressureSound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer tools.No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.Ce poste jouera un rôle essentiel au sein de notre équipe. | This position will fill an essential role in our team.We are an equal opportunity employer.
