Job Description The Complex Care and Recovery Program is seeking a full‑time permanent Team Lead for the Forensic Outpatient Service. Reporting to the Manager of the Forensic Outpatient Clinics, the Team Lead supports the Manager in anticipating operational needs of the outpatient clinic and works collaboratively with the Advanced Practice Clinical Leader, Nurse Educator and interprofessional clinical team to ensure effective and safe coordination of client‑centered care, consistent with CAMH’s vision, strategic directions and clinical practice standards. Responsibilities Serve as a communication liaison and coordinate client/patient admissions, discharges, transfers, client assignments and tasks such as medication room audits. Facilitate service delivery, ensuring a high standard of quality and safety. Act as a liaison and provide support to community partners and courtesy staff. Coordinate staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage of the clinic. Lead daily/weekly team meetings and attend treatment planning meetings. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research and Provincial Community of Practice meetings. Link new FOPS and courtesy staff with appropriate clinic resources and facilitate orientation to clinic procedures and processes. Coordinate and/or assign appropriate CAMH staff to assist students of all disciplines, educating them on team procedures and assisting with client/patient care issues. Collaborate with the manager regarding staff participation in off‑unit meetings, training, educational events such as Nursing Practice Advisory Council and Education Rounds. Support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable standards and requirements. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of best‑practices that advance excellence in client/patient care. Support a regular day shift based at 1001 Queen Street West; may require weekends and travel for home visits. Minimum Requirements Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and able to practice nursing without restrictions. Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate. Preference given to candidates who possess or are currently pursuing a BScN and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. At least two (2) years (or 3900 hours) of clinical experience within the mental health and addictions outpatient field, with applied knowledge of the forensic mental health system and recovery‑based model of care. Proficiency and leadership in dynamic risk management principles, case management responsibilities, problem‑solving, decision‑making, conflict resolution, negotiation, communication, delegation, critical thinking, team building and interpersonal skills. Ability to think at a program‑level and participate in unit‑level as well as organization‑wide change initiatives. Effective verbal and written communication with the team including management; knowledge of interdisciplinary roles, professional responsibilities and areas of expertise. Demonstrated expertise in maintaining a culture of safety for staff, clients/patient families and visitors according to CAMH and regulatory standards. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset. Please Note: This full‑time permanent position is a 1.0 commitment which may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs.
