AtkinsRéalis is part of the Alliance Partner delivering one of downtown Toronto's most transformative transit infrastructure projects. As Contracts Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing subcontract agreements and ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual obligations. Reporting to the Contracts Team Lead on the project, you will oversee subcontract administration and management, while driving best practices across the project. Your role Subcontract Management: Administer and manage subcontract agreements from execution through close‑out. Ensure compliance with subcontract terms, Alliance Management Plans, and legal requirements. Lead negotiations of subcontract terms and conditions, including departures from standard clauses. Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce contractual obligations. Commercial Oversight: Review and approve subcontract commitments, change orders, and progress claims. Maintain accurate registers for subcontract status, payments, and key contractual milestones. Assess subcontractor claims and provide fair, well‑documented determinations. Support dispute avoidance and resolution, working toward amicable settlements when issues arise. Coordinate with Quality, Safety, and Completions teams to ensure non‑commercial requirements are met. Attend subcontractor progress meetings for high‑value or high‑risk packages. Prepare reports on subcontract performance, risks, and financial exposure for senior management. Assist in compiling accruals and monthly project forecasts. Promote commercial awareness within the subcontract team. Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving subcontract processes and templates. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in subcontract administration or contract management within large civil construction projects. Knowledgeable about the Construction Act and Ontario law. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with JD Edwards, Aconex, and ProCore is an asset. Strong knowledge of subcontract negotiation and commercial principles. Strong personality with the ability to challenge subcontractors, provide fair claim determinations, and amicably resolve disputes. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes.
